The sun
is shining, the birds are chirping, and New England residents only
have a few months to take advantage of the warm weather before it
cools off again. If you have been spending this spring on the couch,
it is time to get up and get outside!
possibilities are endless when you make the great outdoors your
playground, but if you are having trouble thinking of what to do,
here is a list of five activities to get you started.
Go For A Hike
If you
want to enjoy the weather, get a little bit of exercise, and
experience the best scenery your area has to offer, going on a hike
is the perfect choice. If you are planning on hiking in a forest or
heavily-wooded area, make sure to bring bug repellent to avoid tick
and mosquito bites.
Ride Your Bike
for a long bike ride is the perfect way to burn some calories while
enjoying the fresh air. Many towns and cities have bike paths that
you can use, but don’t be afraid to make your own adventure by
hopping on your bike and going wherever your heart takes you – just
don’t get lost!
If you
live near any rivers or lakes, kayaking is an exciting new activity
to try out. If you don’t own a kayak, do a little bit of research and
see if anyone in your area offers daily rentals. All you need to have
a great time is a boat, paddle, sunscreen, life jacket, and sense of
Want to
just get away from everything for a night or weekend? Pack a tent and
a sleeping bag and go on a camping trip. Just man (or woman) and
nature, there is no better way to get in touch with Mother Earth than
by living without modern luxuries for a day or two.
Pick-up Sports
Grab a
group of buddies and head to a local park or field and play a game of
your favorite sport. It doesn’t matter if it’s football, basketball,
soccer, or something else – just get up and play!
Pick up
sports are great, but if you are looking for something a little more
