The price of the program ($275 per person) includes the entry fee for the race.

Are you still unsure of whether running a 5K is right for you? Check out 5 of the many benefits of running a 5K:

  1. Shape and define your legs. Have you ever noticed that runners always seem to have the nicest legs? They are toned and muscular. In training for a 5K race, you will burn fat and define your legs. Say hello to nice calves. The more you flex your calves, the more toned they become. A runner’s stride forces you to push off your toes and as a result, your calves will flex through the motion. Running is also a great workout for your glutes. The muscles will firm up, causing you to become lean. Finally, running will help slim your thighs. The key is to continuously challenge yourself and be consistent in your training.
  2. Support a cause. Most races are put on by charities and organizations. The Seaside Shuffle 5K is no exception. All funds raised will go towards the outreach programs of the University of Bridgeport’s College of Chiropractic.
  3. Tone and tighten your stomach. Running burns a ton of calories. As a result, you will lose body fat and begin to tighten and tone your body. In addition o running, weight training will help to raise your metabolism for a longer period of time after a workout. This causes you to burn more calories throughout the day.
  4. Connect with fellow fitness lovers. Running in a race is a great way to make new friends. Join in Insports Centers Couch to 5K program to meet other fitness lovers and create new friendships.
  5. Get addicted. There is a certain rush you feel when you run. There’s no greater habit to get into than one that promotes good health. Continue your running habits, even after the race has ended.
