Adult Soccer

Our Adult Soccer Leagues offer adult players in Fairfield County & New Haven County competitive soccer leagues for men and women on state of the art turf fields.

League Features and Format
  • Indoor state of the art turf field broken up into 30×50 yard expanded play fields.
  • 2 – 24 minute halves of running time.
  • 2 referees are provided for each game.
  • 7 v 7 expanded field format.
  • Required 10 player roster minimum.
  • 8 games guaranteed (including playoffs).
  • League shirts are provided each session.
  • Champions will receive a team trophy, gift certificate to the Game On Bar & Grill, and their name and picture on the Adult League Wall of Fame

COED Soccer League

NEXT SESSION STARTS – 11/16/23

    League Features and Format:
    • League runs on Thursday nights with games starting at 8, 9, 10pm
    • Guaranteed 8 games total (including playoffs)
    • Team Fee: $1200 / team
    • $200 deposit & automated payment plan available, otherwise full team fee due at registration.
    • Roster: Minimum roster size of 10 (two women required on field at all times). Rosters are finalized on week 3.
    • All players must be at least 18 years old to participate. Birthdates must be provided for verification upon registration.
    • Professional referees and scorekeepers are provided.
    • Schedules and standings will be updated and accessible online.
    • Jerseys are included in the cost and will be provided (cotton t-shirts with Insports logo).

    Session 1.24 – 9/14/23 thru 11/9/24

    Session 2.24 – 11/16/23 thru 1/25/24 (BYES 11/23 & 12/28)

      Rules & Registration

      Adult Soccer League Policies and Procedures(Last Updated 4/1/22)

      ***IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE TEAM CAPTAIN TO COMMUNICATE WITH THEIR TEAM AND HELP
      FACILITATE PAYMENTS TOWARDS THE TEAM FEE SO THAT IT IS COMPLETED ON SCHEDULE**

      Fees & Payment Structure:
      • Team fee of $1200
        -The league will have a guaranteed 8 games (including playoffs).
      • $200 deposit & automated payment plan available, otherwise full team fee due at registration.
      • TEAMS ARE SUBJECT TO FORFEITING GAMES IF THEY ARE NOT COMPLIANT WITH PAYMENT
        SCHEDULE.
      • All sales are final at Insports and refunds will not be distributed.
      Memberships:
      • After much feedback and communication with our current customers we are getting rid of the
        facility requirement of memberships to participate in our adult leagues.
      • An Insports membership IS NOT REQUIRED to participate in our adult leagues as of September
        2021.
      League/Game Format and Guidelines:
      • 7 v 7 expanded play games. (6 field players and 1 goalie).

      • 30 x 50 yard expand play on turf field.

      • Games will consist of two, 24-minute halves with a running clock.

      • There is a 2-minute halftime break.

      • Sneakers, turfs, or rubber cleats are permitted.

      • All players must wear their designated team color for each game.

      • Shin guards are strongly encouraged.

      • NO jewelry is permitted on person while playing.

      • Substitutions are permitted on the fly and players must enter at mid field.

      Wednesday Night Men’s League

      • 8 games guaranteed including playoffs. (6 game regular season & 2 weeks of playoffs)
      • All games will be scheduled for Wednesday nights.
      • Games will start at 8, 9, 10pm.
      • It is a possibility that teams will have to play in a double header during the regular season due to an odd number of teams in the division.
      • Players are expected to show up 10-15 minutes prior to the start of their games to allow time for check-in, payments, roster adjustments.

      Thursday Night COED League

      • 8 games guaranteed including playoffs. (6 game regular season & 2 weeks of playoffs)
      • All games will be scheduled for Thursday nights.
      • Games will start at 8, 9, 10pm.
      • Two women are required on the field at all times. (goaltender qualifies where applicable)
      • It is a possibility that teams will have to play in a double header during the regular
        season due to an odd number of teams in the division.
      • Players are expected to show up 10-15 minutes prior to the start of their games to allow time for check-in, payments, roster adjustments.
      Roster:
      • Minimum roster size is 10 players.
      •  Rosters are finalized on week 3 of each session.
        –Any player not assigned to a roster by week 3 will not be eligible to play in the league.
      •  Substitute players will be permitted during the regular season IF explicitly approved by the opposing team captain AND Insports management prior to kickoff.
      •  Individual players must play during the regular season games to be eligible to participate in
        playoff games.
      • ANY DISPUTES OF UNROSTERED PLAYERS MUST BE MADE TO INSPORTS MANAGEMENT BEFORE
        THE START OF THE GAME OR DURING THE FIRST HALF.
      •  No substitute players will be permitted during the playoffs for any reason. Only rostered players will be eligible. If a team does not have 7 or more rostered players for a playoff game
        they must play down or forfeit the game.
      Age Restrictions:

       Men’s & Coed League – all players must be at least 18 years old to participate. Birthdates must be provided for verification upon registration.

      Jerseys:
      • Insports will provide team captains with jerseys for their team once the league fee is completely paid off.
      • Jerseys are cotton t-shirts with an Insports logo across the front chest.
      • After the jerseys are distributed, players are expected to wear shirts for every game.
      • REFEREES RESERVE THE RIGHT TO DISTRIBUTE A 2 MINUTE PENATLY TO START THE GAME FOR PLAYERS WHO DO NOT HAVE THEIR JERSEYS TO START THE GAME.
      Goalkeepers:
      • Goalkeepers are not permitted to punt or drop kick the ball.
      • Goalkeepers must pass the ball outside the box on goal kicks.
      • The goalkeeper has 6 seconds to distribute the ball upon possession.
      • The goalkeeper can distribute the ball in the air over midfield at any point in the game.
      Free Kicks:
      • All free kicks are in-direct.
      • All kick-ins must be played within 6 seconds of when the ball is placed. Failure to do so could result in loss of possession.
      • Any player defending a free kick must restart at least 3 yards away from the ball. Any defender in violation will receive a 2-minute caution for “delaying the restart”.
      • Any kick-in from the outside line that does not enter the field will result in a turnover.
      • Any ball that touches the roof will result in an indirect free kick for the defending team from midfield.
      Penalties:
      • No slide tackling or sliding. This is a hard rule – NO EXCEPTIONS!
        –Goalkeeper may slide at ball ONLY inside the goal area.
      • Any fouls called for slide tackling will result in a 2-minute penalty and an indirect free kick.
      • Yellow and Red Cards
        –Any player who receives a yellow card must leave the field of play for 2 minutes. The team will play man down for that period of time.
        –The player may not re-enter the field unless: the referee signaled them back in after the time expired, or a goal has been scored by the opposing team,
        –If the goalkeeper receives a yellow card, a field player must leave the field of play for 2 minutes.
        –If a player receives 2 yellow cards in the same game, they will be shown a red card.
        –A player who receives a red card must leave the facility immediately and the team must continue to play man down for 5 minutes.
        –Every red card that is distributed will be reviewed by referees and management after the game and players are subject to suspension from the league without refund or credit.
        –Insports has zero tolerance for any fighting, spitting, racial comments, or aggressive behavior towards other players / referees / or staff. The referees reserve to show a red card to any player demonstrating this behavior at their discretion.
      Overtime (Playoffs Only):
      • A 5-minute overtime period will run in the event of a tie at the end of regular time.
      • During the 5-minute overtime period, the first team to score will result as the winning team
        (Golden Goal).
      • If the game is tied after the 5-minute overtime period, there will be a penalty shootout.
        –Each team is responsible for selecting from the eligible players the order in which they will take the kicks.
        –Each kicker can kick once. Once kicked, the kicker may not play the ball again.
        –The decision on a re-kick is solely at the discretion of the referees.
        –Each team will have 3 penalty shootout opportunities to decide the winner.
      Forfeits:
      • A team may be awarded a forfeit if they are unable to comply with the payment schedule.
      • If you are unable to field a full team for a specific game, but you give Insports a 24-hour notice, we will do our best to reschedule a game. If we are unable to find a time to reschedule the game prior to the start of playoffs, then the game will result in a forfeit.
      • A team may be awarded a forfeit for using a player who is not rostered on the team following the week 3 roster deadline.
      •  A team may be awarded a forfeit if they fail to field a team of at least 6 players within ten minutes of the scheduled game time.
      • If a team receives 2 forfeits due to inability to field at least 6 players for a game, that team is subject to being taken off the remaining session schedule without a refund or credit.
      Refund Policy:
      •  All sales are final at Insports and refunds will not be distributed.

      • Payments towards a team fee cannot be retroactively applied to a different team, program, or person.

      •  If a player is suspended from the league or facility due to conduct, they will not be eligible for a refund.

      Sportsmanship:

      The goals of the Insports Adult Leagues are to have fun, meet new people, and enjoy a safe and competitive environment to continue to participate in team sports. We hope that all participants can
      keep this in mind while involved in any programming at Insports. Any behavior deemed unacceptable may result in suspension and/or rejection from a game or league without refund or credit. Abuse of officials, referees, and other staff will not be tolerated. Insports Centers reserves the right to remove a player from a game or league if they are negatively impacting the customer experience for other participants. Insports does not tolerate fighting. Fighting will result and in an automatic ejection from the game and in most cases ejection from the league indefinitely. Remember that with your help, Insports can continue to grow the safe and friendly adult league culture that we are proud to provide!

      Joe DeFilippo

      Executive Director of Baseball Operations, Coach

      Joe has done it all in his 40+ years in baseball as a player, coach/instructor, scout/ talent evaluator, and umpire.

      Following a highly decorated career as a middle infielder, Joe immediately began teaching and coaching young players the game he loves, in Alabama, Texas and Connecticut. In addition, Joe has 20+ years experience as an umpire in youth, high school, and college baseball. He has also been involved in the scouting end of baseball as a talent evaluator at showcases/combines for prospective college and professional players.

      Coach Joe has also been involved in coaching youth basketball, and football at both the youth and high school level.

      Previously the organization founder & co-owner of the Connecticut RiverDogs, Coach Joe’s teams and players have won innumerable league and tournament championships.

      RICH LICURSI

      Executive Operations and Player Development, Coach

      1st Team All American and Highest decorated player in Sacred Heart University baseball history; Coach Rich was player of the year in 1990 and earned a spot in the Cape Cod league for the Brewster Whitecaps. In high School Coach Rich was decorated with all state honors, All FCIAC, 1 State Championship at THS (1986), and selected to the All Daily News Baseball Team in 1987.  Coach Licursi is the All-Time record holder at SHU in career and season strikeouts, career and season wins, complete games career and season, total innings career and season, and total career appearances.  Coach Rich enjoyed a 5-year professional career with the LA Dodgers and Boston Red Sox organizations as well as independent baseball.  Coach Licursi has been in child development or over 30 years ranging from Director of the Westport/Weston YMCA to Board of Directors for in town sports.  When asking Coach Rich what his biggest accomplishment is, he states that he takes great pride in his students and players he works with, and the response from the community has been amazing.  Coaching now for over 30 years in youth sports ranging from Baseball, Football and Basketball, coach Rich will always be here for the kids and with a focus on personal and team growth.  Previously the organization owner & creator of the CT Dodgers, Coach Rich produced many championship teams over the past 7 years and signed over 30 ballplayers to college opportunities and scholarships.  A master in the art of pitching, Coach Rich is considered one of the best available to work with.

      “I’m more than excited to partner with such a great Sports Forum such as InSports of Trumbull.  We have been looking for the perfect platform to build the states best AAU Baseball program, and I feel with this new location we have access to the best ballplayers in the state to do so.  We are great at what we do, and we look forward to meeting so many new players and their families this October during tryouts for our 2022 Spring/Summer teams.
