Facility Waiver & Registration

We kindly request that all participants of Insports complete our Facility Waiver form prior to participating in an activity. Coaches, teams, and athletes can access our AthleteTrax online registration.

Rules and Policies

The primary function of Insports is to promote health, wellness and safety through sports, non-sport related recreational activities, and active entertainment by providing accommodating service, innovative programming, and outstanding facilities, while fostering family values, healthy lifestyles and community involvement. The following rules and regulations are in place to ensure the smooth operation of our facility and to support the positive social interaction of all who use it. Anyone, or any group, in violation of any rule or policy may be removed from the facility or banned from an activity and will be subject to review by the Insports Management Board.

Memberships

Insports offers memberships valid for one calendar year. Single participant memberships are a $40 fee. Family memberships are a $60 fee. There are no refunds for any membership. All league and youth instructional program participants must have an Insports membership. Anyone, or any group, renting space do not need an Insports membership. For Open Play times, members pay $15 and nonmembers pay $25.

Insurance and Waivers

All participants must submit the Insports waiver form prior to facility use.

All participants recognize, understand, and agree that Insports assumes no responsibility or liability for any damage or injury that may occur during use of the facility.

All groups and teams must have a responsible representative 21-years-old or older present at all activities.

Prohibited Items and Activities

 The use of any tobacco products is prohibited in and around the Insports facility.

No outside food or beverages are allowed.

Chewing gum and candy are not allowed in the turf fields and hard floor courts.

Animals, with the exception of service animals, are not allowed.

Cameras and smart phones with cameras may not be used in the restrooms.

No running, throwing or kicking of any balls and any other objects, etc. are permitted in any of the interior areas of Insports other than on the turf fields or hard floor courts.

No physical or verbal fighting or altercations are allowed. Anyone with questionable behavior or conduct toward another person will be removed from the Insports facility.

Mopeds, bicycles, and electric scooters are not allowed inside the Insports facility. Skateboards, roller-skates, roller-blades and non-electric scooters are not allowed to be operated in the Insports facility under any circumstances.

Everyone must clean up after themselves. Garbage cans and recycle bins are placed throughout the Insports facility. Any bags, clothing or sports bottles left  behind will be placed in the Lost and Found.

Scheduling

The schedule will be posted and constantly updated. Please check the schedule or call ahead if you have any questions about a scheduled activity.

The scheduling of all activities is based on facility availability. All requests will be considered on a “first come first served” basis.

Once confirmed, no reservation may be changed without the permission of Insports.

Insports has the right to deny or limit scheduling and rental requests based on conflicts that arise pertaining to Insports’ own programs and facility use.

Insports reserves the right to cancel all scheduled activities at any time in cases of inclement weather conditions, natural disasters, or any other reason which may prohibit the Insports facility and staff to operate in safe conditions. Insports will post a cancellation notice on the website and a voice message on the main line, in addition to sending an e-mail to members and the day’s scheduled participants.

Leagues

Each team must have a Team Captain. Each Team Captain will be emailed a packet at the beginning of each league session that will contain the rules and regulations. It is the Team Captain’s responsibility that all players on the team know the rules. Team Captains are responsible for the actions of his/her players. Therefore, Team Captains will be responsible for the immediate removal of any ejected player(s), and will be responsible for the follow through communication of any and all suspended players.

All communication between the teams and the referees will only be through the Team Captain. Any Team Captain who speaks to the referees disrespectfully will lose his/her right to dispute or question a call.

Team fees apply per session. Each sport and league has different team fees.

Each Team Captain is required to register online and put down a non-refundable deposit of $200 for his/her team for the session. Without the deposit and online registration, Insports cannot hold a team’s spot for the league.

The balance of a team’s league fee must be paid before the team steps onto the turf fields or hard floor courts for its second game. Any teams that are not paid in full by the second game will be forced to forfeit all games and incur forfeit fees until the team is paid in full.

Each team is required to complete a roster by its first game. Teams will be able to add players or drop players up until the start of the their third game. Each player must go to the Insports website, sign the online waiver form and ask to be added to his/her team.

Each Team Captain will receive his/her first week’s game time approximately one week before the start of the league.
Complete schedules will be available online by the first game. Once the schedule have been posted, Insports will not be able to make changes.

If any team has any specific requests, Insports will try their best to accommodate them, provided the requests are given to Insports a week before the league starts and are not unfair to the other teams in the league. The only reason a schedule may change after the start of the league is due to foreseen circumstances, such as a team dropping or being removed from the league.

Insports does not provide coaches for any youth team participating in any of the leagues.  A maximum of three parents or adult volunteers per team are encouraged to organize and coach any team without a designated coach.

Insports does not guarantee any minimum or maximum playing time for any player in any of the leagues.

Youth age groups are determined by the age group the child participated in  for the previous outdoor fall session. All youth players are permitted to “play up” an age group with parental and Insports permission. No youth player may be permitted to “play down” an age group.

Adult League Champions earn a spot on the Insports’ “Wall of Champions,” which will be posted on the Insports website and a shout-out on the Insports Facebook page. The team will also receive a champions trophy and gift card to the Bar & Grill.

Rentals

Please contact Insports for all rental prices. Anyone, or any group, wanting to rent do not need to have an Insports membership.

For one time rentals, 100% of the balance is due at the time of booking.

For long term rentals, a deposit is required to hold the rental, and payments can be made in installments.

Insports rentals include our full field turf, half field turf, turf POD, hard floor courts, boarded turf fields, Game On Bar & Grill, multi-purpose rooms, and the full facility. Please visit our “A Look At Insports” page to see pictures and descriptions of all of the rental options.

Instructional Programs

Each instructional program has different fees. Please check the Insports Instructional Programs page for more information about instructional programs’ pricing and rules.

All youth participants are permitted to “play up” an age group with parental and Insports permission. No youth participant may be permitted to “play down” an age group.

Open Play

Please make sure to call ahead to get updated times available on our courts or fields for open play!

No one may enter any field or participate in any activity without signing an Insports’ waiver form. For players under 18-years-old, a parent or guardian signature is necessary.

All players must pay before they play. There will be no refunds. For adults and kids, Open Play is $15 for members and $25 for non-members. For those with family memberships, Open Play is $15 for two kids and $20 for 3 or more kids.

Adult Open Play is for players 18-years-old and older. For Youth Open Play, all kids 9-years-old and younger must be accompanied and supervised by an adult.

Unsportsmanlike behavior will NOT be tolerated. Players disrespecting other players, coaches, spectators or Insports staff members will be penalized. Any players who physically or verbally fight will be automatically banned from Open Play and will be subject to review by the Insports Management Board.

Please be courteous to the facility and its members. Do not spit on the fields and courts. Do not use inappropriate language.

Vacation Day Camps

Any children, 5-15 years-old wanting to participate in an Insports Vacation Day Camp do not need to have an Insports membership.

All completed and signed forms must be turned in to Insports by the first day of the camp.  All health forms must be completed signed by the camper’s doctor within one year prior to the start of the camp.  Insports will not be returning any forms.

All campers with pre-existing conditions such as allergies, asthma, etc. must alert the Insports staff and must bring enough medication for the duration of the camp and its accompanying medical release forms. Please bring all medications and forms in a gallon-size resealable plastic bag with the child’s name and parent or guardian contact information. All medications must be properly labeled in its original container with the doctor’s instructions for use. Any medication that is not properly labeled, WILL NOT be administered to the camper. If the camper is not able to administer his/her own medication, then the parent or guardian must return to Insports to administer the medication. All medications and its containers will be returned to the parent or guardian after the camp has concluded.

Minor illnesses and accidents can occur. Insports will provide medical care for any camper within their medical capabilities. If the Insports staff feels that an injury or illness warrants a visit with a physician, they will immediately contact a parent or guardian. The Insports staff will follow any treatment plan prescribed by a doctor the best they can.

Birthday Parties

Anyone wanting to have their birthday party at Insports do not need to have an Insports membership.

Party and Multi-purpose Rooms

Anyone, or any group, wanting to rent a party and multi-purpose room at Insports do not need to have an Insports membership.

Turf Fields and Hard Courts

All participants must wear the proper clothing and equipment. Shirts must be worn at all times. Please check out the Insports Required Equipment list.

On all turf fields, CLEATS ARE ENCOURAGED. Field turf shoes and any flat-soled shoes are allowed. All participants and coaches must ensure that any mud or dirt must be cleaned off outside the facility or into a garbage can before entering onto the turf. On all hard courts, only non-marking, flat-soled athletic shoes are allowed. Martial arts clubs and group fitness classes may obtain prior approval from an Insports General Manager to have bare feet in activity areas.

Hanging on any nets, goals, basketball rims, and boards is not allowed. Throwing objects, including balls, against the walls, bleachers, and lights is also not allowed. Do not pull on, or otherwise remove or attempt to remove, turf fibers from the turf fields.

No spitting is allowed. No chewing gum or candy are allowed.

No food of any type may be brought onto the turf fields or hard courts. Only drinks contained in a sports bottle are allowed on the turf fields and hard courts. Food and drink may only be consumed in the Game On Bar & Grill, lobby area, or lounge area.

No participant may wear jewelry or have coins, keys or other objects in his/her pockets while participating in any activity.

Insports has a specific schedule for all events. Please do not enter the area of the playing field or hard court until the conclusion of the previous scheduled event or until five minutes before the start time designated for your event.

Spectators are encouraged to view activities from the sidelines, including the bleachers located outside of the turf fields and hard floor courts. Spectators will view activities at their own risk, as they will not be covered by Insports’ insurance. Spectators may not interfere with the activities on the turf fields and hard courts. Spectators are not permitted in the team bench and sideline areas.

Coaches, participants and spectators must clean up after themselves. Garbage cans and recycle bins are placed throughout the Insports facility. Failure to adhere to this rule may result in sports bottles not being allowed onto the turf fields and hard courts. Any bags, clothing or sports bottles left on the turf fields or hard courts will be placed in the Lost and Found.

Abuse of the Insports facility, including the turf fields, hard courts and all equipment will result in immediate dismissal from the facility. Additional sanctions may include disciplinary action, reimbursement for damages, and/or potential suspension from Insports. Anyone, or any group, asked to leave by Insports will not be refunded.

Lobby and Lounge Areas

No running, throwing or kicking of any balls and any other objects, etc. are permitted in the lobby and lounge areas.

All kids 9-years-old and younger must be accompanied and supervised by an adult.

No outside food or beverages are allowed.

Participants and spectators must clean up after themselves. Garbage cans and recycle bins are placed throughout the Insports facility. Any bags, clothing or sports bottles left in the lobby or lounge areas will be placed in the Lost and Found.

Abuse of the Insports facility, including the lobby and lounge areas will result in immediate dismissal from the facility. Additional sanctions may include disciplinary action, reimbursement for damages, and/or potential suspension from Insports.

Game On Bar & Grill

Due to Connecticut state law, anyone under 21 years of age cannot stand or sit at the bar, but are allowed to stand and sit at the tables alongside the walls.

No running, throwing or kicking of any balls and any other objects, etc. are permitted in the Game On Bar & Grill.

No outside food or beverages are allowed.

All tabs must be payed in full before leaving the Game On Bar & Grill.

Everyone must clean up after themselves. Garbage cans and recycle bins are placed throughout the Insports facility, including in the Game On Bar & Grill. Any bags, clothing or sports bottles left in the Game On Bar & Grill will be placed in the Lost and Found.

Abuse of the Insports facility, including the Game On Bar & Grill will result in immediate dismissal from the facility. Additional sanctions may include disciplinary action, reimbursement for damages, and/or potential suspension from Insports.

Party and Multi-purpose Rooms

No running, throwing or kicking of any balls and any other objects, etc. are permitted in the party and multi-purpose rooms. Exceptions to this rule are exercise and tae kwon do classes that have received prior approval from Insports to do so.

All kids 9-years-old and younger must be accompanied and supervised by an adult.

No outside food or beverages are allowed.

Everyone must clean up after themselves. Garbage cans and recycle bins are placed throughout the Insports facility, including in the party and multi-purpose rooms. Any bags, clothing or sports bottles left behind will be placed in the Lost and Found.

Abuse of the Insports facility, including the party and multi-purpose rooms will result in immediate dismissal from the facility. Additional sanctions may include disciplinary action, reimbursement for damages, and/or potential suspension from Insports.

Parking

Drivers park their vehicles only in designated parking spots.

Drivers must adhere to the posted speed limit.

The Insports parking lot may not be used for anything other than parking vehicles. No running, throwing or kicking of any balls and any other objects, etc. are permitted in the parking lot.  Anyone violating this regulation will be personally liable for any damage caused to himself/herself, anyone else or the Insports property.

Injuries and Medical Emergencies

In the case of an injury or medical emergency please seek an Insports staff member.

In the event that a parent or guardian cannot be reached for a participant 17-years-old and younger, Insports reserves the right to seek emergency care, including ambulance assistance or hospital care as deemed necessary under the circumstances.

All emergency care costs are the sole responsibility of the participant and the parents or guardians.

After any injury or medical emergency, download and fill out an Incident Report form.

Photographs and Video

Insports may be utilizing security cameras on-site which records video and audio. In addition, photographs and video may be taken during activities within Insports programs and facilities. By participating in programs or entering the facility, participants and guests consent that reproductions of photographs and video may be used on the Insports website, in e-mails or any other promotional materials.

Lost and Found

Insports is not responsible for any left or lost item at our facility.  All Lost and Found items will be put in our Lost and Found area. Items will be held for no more than 10 days.

 

User Privacy

Insports is committed to ensuring that its website users’ privacy is protected. Insports asks for certain information by which each user can be identified when using the Insports website. Users can be assured that this information will only be used in accordance with Insports User Privacy policies.

Insports may keep record of user information for Insports’ internal review, business development, research, marketing. Information is stored for the minimal amount of time necessary.

Insports may also use this information to solicit e-mail for business development, research, marketing or promotional purposes or press inquiries. Insports provides an opportunity to opt in for e-mail communications and removal from this distribution list by sending Insports an e-mail. Insports stores this information in our database and does not share it with third parties, except as described in this policy. If Insports ever needs to share this information with other third parties, Insports will notify you. At any time users can remove their name and related information from the Insports database. Also, Insports will provide its users a choice to opt-out if they don’t want their information used for any purpose or a particular purpose. Users can review and update your information by contacting  Insports.

The Insports website contains links to other websites belonging to our “friends of Insports.” Insports does not control the privacy practices of these other websites. Users need to make sure that they know when they have left the Insports website and, if the website they visit collects personal information, that they have read that website’s privacy policy.

Insports does not provide information about its users, except in the event that Insports is required to provide information by a court or other governmental order or subpoena. Also, if Insports believes it is necessary to share user information in order to investigate, prevent or take action against regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, or violations of Insports rules and policies.

Joe DeFilippo

Executive Director of Baseball Operations, Coach

Joe has done it all in his 40+ years in baseball as a player, coach/instructor, scout/ talent evaluator, and umpire.

Following a highly decorated career as a middle infielder, Joe immediately began teaching and coaching young players the game he loves, in Alabama, Texas and Connecticut. In addition, Joe has 20+ years experience as an umpire in youth, high school, and college baseball. He has also been involved in the scouting end of baseball as a talent evaluator at showcases/combines for prospective college and professional players.

Coach Joe has also been involved in coaching youth basketball, and football at both the youth and high school level.

Previously the organization founder & co-owner of the Connecticut RiverDogs, Coach Joe’s teams and players have won innumerable league and tournament championships.

RICH LICURSI

Executive Operations and Player Development, Coach

1st Team All American and Highest decorated player in Sacred Heart University baseball history; Coach Rich was player of the year in 1990 and earned a spot in the Cape Cod league for the Brewster Whitecaps. In high School Coach Rich was decorated with all state honors, All FCIAC, 1 State Championship at THS (1986), and selected to the All Daily News Baseball Team in 1987.  Coach Licursi is the All-Time record holder at SHU in career and season strikeouts, career and season wins, complete games career and season, total innings career and season, and total career appearances.  Coach Rich enjoyed a 5-year professional career with the LA Dodgers and Boston Red Sox organizations as well as independent baseball.  Coach Licursi has been in child development or over 30 years ranging from Director of the Westport/Weston YMCA to Board of Directors for in town sports.  When asking Coach Rich what his biggest accomplishment is, he states that he takes great pride in his students and players he works with, and the response from the community has been amazing.  Coaching now for over 30 years in youth sports ranging from Baseball, Football and Basketball, coach Rich will always be here for the kids and with a focus on personal and team growth.  Previously the organization owner & creator of the CT Dodgers, Coach Rich produced many championship teams over the past 7 years and signed over 30 ballplayers to college opportunities and scholarships.  A master in the art of pitching, Coach Rich is considered one of the best available to work with.
