LEGO builders assemble! We need you to come join our experienced Play-Well Instructors to save the world. We will use LEGO to build our strongest Avengers to defeat Thanos, help Thor retrieve Mjolnir, swing through the city with Spider-man, and tell Hulk to…Smash! Our journey will take us through battles on this world and beyond; are you up to the challenge?

Come join our fun and knowledgeable Play-Well Instructors as we use LEGO materials to recreate our favorite animated friends and their worlds! After building our most beloved princesses, villians and sidekicks, get ready to rescue princes and princesses from towers, explore enchanted castles, and maybe even fly on a magic carpet or two. All we need is your creativity and a little magic to bring it all to life!

Drones are changing the landscape of our everyday lives! In this camp you will explore the laws of physics! Our Code Senseis will teach campers how to code using these fun flying friends! Campers will learn how to skillfully control their drone by making their computers into remote controls through code to perform a series of tricks and follow predefined flight paths. Take flight this summer in the #1 drone camp

Instead of just playing games, how would you like to code your own? During this incredible week, our Senseis will teach you how to build games using the characters you love, and the coding skills you will gain throughout the camp! You even get to choose your own themes and worlds to explore!

Who runs the world? Coder Girls! STEM is the fastest growing career industry, but women make up just a quarter of the STEM workforce. The difference lies NOT in ability, but INTEREST & CONFIDENCE! Our girls only Coder Girls camps are designed to inspire girls’ passion for STEM & confidence in their abilities! Throughout the camp week our Coder Girls will play, discover, code, and bring their imagination to reality!

Let’s get crazy with chemicals and see what happens in our lab! Every day campers will have the best reactions to our “MAD” reactions as they witness the mysteries of dry ice and mix up colorful explosions, foaming elephant toothpaste, new slime daily, bubbling solutions, sticky polymers, different states of matter, and much, much more! This camp will bring chemistry to life and have children bursting with excitement about science! Campers will receive a Mad Science Lab coat, goggles, lab wear, Mad Science Certification, and specially designed take homes to help extend learning at home!

Time: 9am-12pm

Join Food Explorers and dive into a week of chocolate! Kids will whip up delicious baked chocolate desserts like: Whoopie Pies, Chocolate Donuts, Chocolate Chip Cookies, Chocolate Tarts and Chocolate Twists. All recipes are nut free!

Food Explorers – Chopped american cookout

Details

Join Food Explorers to explore your creativity with our “Chopped: American Cookout” cooking camp. Each day, two teams will be tasked with creating a recipe together, selecting from a pantry of ingredients by working as a group. Kids will be making dishes such as: Carrot Cake Cups, Stuffed Pie Bites, Mac & Cheese, Grilled Cheese and Banana Split Cups. All recipes are nut free!

Time: 9am-12pm 

Ages: Grades 2-5

Cost: $325 per week

 

Joe DeFilippo

Executive Director of Baseball Operations, Coach

Joe has done it all in his 40+ years in baseball as a player, coach/instructor, scout/ talent evaluator, and umpire.

Following a highly decorated career as a middle infielder, Joe immediately began teaching and coaching young players the game he loves, in Alabama, Texas and Connecticut. In addition, Joe has 20+ years experience as an umpire in youth, high school, and college baseball. He has also been involved in the scouting end of baseball as a talent evaluator at showcases/combines for prospective college and professional players.

Coach Joe has also been involved in coaching youth basketball, and football at both the youth and high school level.

Previously the organization founder & co-owner of the Connecticut RiverDogs, Coach Joe’s teams and players have won innumerable league and tournament championships.

RICH LICURSI

Executive Operations and Player Development, Coach

1st Team All American and Highest decorated player in Sacred Heart University baseball history; Coach Rich was player of the year in 1990 and earned a spot in the Cape Cod league for the Brewster Whitecaps. In high School Coach Rich was decorated with all state honors, All FCIAC, 1 State Championship at THS (1986), and selected to the All Daily News Baseball Team in 1987.  Coach Licursi is the All-Time record holder at SHU in career and season strikeouts, career and season wins, complete games career and season, total innings career and season, and total career appearances.  Coach Rich enjoyed a 5-year professional career with the LA Dodgers and Boston Red Sox organizations as well as independent baseball.  Coach Licursi has been in child development or over 30 years ranging from Director of the Westport/Weston YMCA to Board of Directors for in town sports.  When asking Coach Rich what his biggest accomplishment is, he states that he takes great pride in his students and players he works with, and the response from the community has been amazing.  Coaching now for over 30 years in youth sports ranging from Baseball, Football and Basketball, coach Rich will always be here for the kids and with a focus on personal and team growth.  Previously the organization owner & creator of the CT Dodgers, Coach Rich produced many championship teams over the past 7 years and signed over 30 ballplayers to college opportunities and scholarships.  A master in the art of pitching, Coach Rich is considered one of the best available to work with.
